Posted on March 3, 2014

ACTION Council of Monterey County announces the release of their 2013 Community Report. The report summarizes achievements and accomplishments of a few of the many groups affiliated with ACTION Council including Pathways to Safety, Wraparound Monterey County, Parents as Teachers and Building Healthy Communities. These programs have positively impacted hundreds of local families and helped support unmet needs for low-income and vulnerable individuals in our community. Executive Director Larry Imwalle believes that by working together, we can influence change, “Collaboration has always been an essential element in our success and a catalyst for innovation in our work. Through collaboration with our partners we keep learning how to move our work from transactional to transformational. At the ACTION Council we aren’t content with satisfying needs; we are focused on solving problems and changing systems.”

The Community Report outlines what these programs offer, features real-life examples of participants and how their lives have changed for the better, and statistics on the number of families and children who have benefited from these services. Working with Monterey County Department of Social Services, Monterey County Probation Department, First 5 Monterey County, Door to Hope, local school districts and many other agencies, ACTION Council and their partner programs are making a difference in the lives of parents, at-risk youth and others who have found support and mentorship through these unique projects and programs.
